What December Really Taught Us
December asked for something different than momentum. The month slowed things down enough to notice what wasn't working—not through crisis, but through accumulation. Small misalignments became harder to ignore. Conversations that had been deferred finally happened, or their absence became more obvious. Beliefs you'd been operating on without examination started to feel less solid, and in some cases, less true.
The clarity wasn't instant or comfortable. Mercury's retrograde through Sagittarius pulled focus to how you communicate and what you've been saying without fully meaning it. Old narratives surfaced, some of them exhausted. Internal dialogues that had been running on loop either shifted or revealed themselves as patterns you'd outgrown. For many, this correlated with recognizing where autopilot had replaced actual choice.
As the month progressed, the energy moved from reflection to accountability. The question stopped being what do I want and became what am I willing to sustain. What needs stronger boundaries. What requires commitment instead of enthusiasm. What you're building versus what you're tolerating.
December wasn't designed for fresh starts. It was a closing—a chance to end chapters with awareness rather than avoidance, and to enter the next cycle with fewer illusions about what's actually yours to carry forward.
